Edmund Bartlett, and the Director of the GTRCMC, Dr. Patrick O’Brien, signed the agreement on 17th of June 2023. The MOU aims to strengthen the capacity of both countries to respond effectively to tourism-related crises and disasters. It also seeks to enhance the resilience of the tourism sector in both countries, making them more adaptable and sustainable in the face of future challenges. The collaboration between the two countries will focus on sharing best practices, knowledge, and expertise. This includes the development of training programs, workshops, and other capacity-building initiatives.

The GTRCMC satellite center will focus on research and development in the areas of tourism, hospitality, and related fields. It will be a hub for collaboration and knowledge sharing among researchers, academics, and industry professionals.
